Goldwind Takes Full Turbine Supply and Install Scope on 82 MW Manisa Wind-Storage Plant
Goldwind International Renewable Energy Limited and Goldwind Turkey Enerji A.S. have signed a turbine supply contract with Aksa Yenilenebilir Enerji Uretim A.S. covering a wind plant with storage to be built at Manisa, according to Enerji Gunlugu. The Chinese manufacturer will handle supply and installation of every turbine at the site.
The plant is sized at 82.16 MWe and 88 MWm, paired with 90.5749 MWh of storage capacity. Enerji Haber reported the same configuration, with the storage block specified separately from the turbine scope.
Aksa Yenilenebilir is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aksa Enerji Uretim A.S.. The counterparties on the Goldwind side are both the international arm and the Turkish entity, according to Enerji Haber.
The first turbines are planned for commissioning in May 2027. Enerji Haber put the same target on the schedule.
What distinguishes the mandate is its breadth. Rather than a supply-only order, the contract assigns Goldwind both procurement and erection of the full turbine fleet at the plant. For a manufacturer competing outside its home market, scope of that kind carries installation risk alongside equipment margin, and it removes a separate balance-of-plant contractor from the turbine erection line.
Aksa Enerji frames the investment inside a strategy it calls Sustainable High Growth, aimed at widening the source diversity of its generation portfolio. The company is continuing renewable investment in line with its 2030 targets.
The hybrid design is the more instructive detail for anyone tracking how storage is entering wind procurement. At 90.5749 MWh against 82.16 MWe of wind capacity, the battery is sized close to roughly one hour of nameplate output, a ratio consistent with shaping and curtailment management rather than multi-hour arbitrage. Sizing decisions of this kind determine whether the storage asset earns from shifting energy across the day or from smoothing intermittent delivery at the connection point.
Enerji Gunlugu published the contract news on August 11, 2026. Enerji Haber carried the story the same day under the byline of Beyza Kum.
