Editorial standards
voltsdaily editorial standards
Contributors and journalists write here, with an AI editorial chain assisting under human direction. Every text takes the same route, and these are the checks it has to pass.
Factual claims are extracted with the exact source wording that supports them, judged by several independent models, and only then written up. The checks below are blocking: a text that fails one is held, not published.
Five standards
- Every quotation must appear in its source, character for character. A quote that cannot be found there is dropped.
- Every factual claim is reviewed by four independent models, and at least three of the four must find the source supports it.
- Figures, units, proper names and attributions are checked separately from the claim that carries them.
- A style pass and a final editorial pass can both block a text outright.
- AI-generated illustrations are always labelled as such in the caption, and are never presented as photographs of the event.
Limits
These checks measure faithfulness to sources, not ground truth: if a source is wrong, voltsdaily can repeat its error, and independent models can share a blind spot. Coverage is also bounded by the sources being monitored, so a story outside them is a story missed. When an error does get through, the corrections policy applies.
