Corrections policy

voltsdaily's mistakes are ours to fix. Here is how to report one and what happens next.

What triggers a correction

A confirmed factual error triggers a correction: a wrong number, date, name, or attribution, or a statement its source does not actually support. Framing that misleads, even when each fact checks out, is treated the same way. An article that cannot be repaired is retracted rather than quietly edited.

How to report an error

Use the form below. Give the article link and the passage in question, say why you believe it is wrong, and add a source if you have one. Every report reaches the newsroom directly.

Report an error

Paste the address of the article, or its final segment.

Quote the sentence or figure that is wrong.

Only if you want a reply. A report is read either way.

What happens to a report, and to anything you write here, is set out in Your data.

How corrections appear

A corrected article replaces the one that was wrong, at the same address: there is only ever one version of an article online. The page then carries a visible line saying it was corrected after an error was found, with a short note on what changed. The newsroom keeps its own record of every change, which is a working tool rather than a page for readers.
