Repsol Drills Through Record Highs as IBEX 35 Slips to 20,021.8 Points
Repsol is trading through its all-time highs while the IBEX 35 sits at 20,021.8 points, down 28.9 points or 0.144%, according to Spanish market site Bolsarama.
Bolsarama describes Repsol as one of the stocks on the Spanish benchmark offering the best technical setup as of publication. The index itself opened September fighting to hold near support at 19,800 points, per the same analysis.
Repsol is not the only energy name flagged positively. Bolsarama identifies Naturgy as one of the IBEX 35 stocks offering the best technical outlook on the index. Two energy names carrying the constructive read while the benchmark drifts lower is the divergence worth tracking for anyone holding European large-cap exposure.
Steel offers a parallel. ArcelorMittal has ended its recent consolidation after clearing resistance at EUR 65.36, its annual high, according to Bolsarama, which calls the technical picture there strong.
Elsewhere on the index the readings are mixed. Grifols keeps a bullish bias after climbing back above its 200-session moving average at the end of July. IAG has spent more than a month moving sideways in a band right around that same average. One IBEX company has lost its 200-session moving average for the first time since the start of 2025, Bolsarama reports.
On the Mercado Continuo, a Spanish paper producer is being watched for a possible break above resistance at EUR 2.748.
US markets give the Spanish benchmark little directional help in the same analysis. The Dow Jones rose more than 1% on Thursday, leaving the index right at its short-term resistance, according to Bolsarama. Tesla fell 5.92% before the decline slowed as the stock approached its 200-session moving average.
The 200-session average recurs across these readings as the line separating the constructive names from the damaged ones, and Repsol's position above its record highs puts it well clear of that test. For a global equity book, the signal is narrow but concrete: the oil major is setting new price ground at the same session the index it belongs to is losing 0.144% and defending a support 221.8 points below where it trades.
Bolsarama frames all of these levels as technical, not fundamental. The resistance and support figures cited, EUR 65.36 for ArcelorMittal, EUR 2.748 on the Mercado Continuo, and 19,800 points on the IBEX 35, are chart levels the site is monitoring rather than valuation targets.
