SLB OneSubsea Submits Lowest Bids in Petrobras 32-Tree Subsea Tender for Sergipe Deepwater
SLB OneSubsea submitted the lowest bids in a Petrobras tender for 32 subsea christmas trees and associated subsea hardware, competing against BakerHughes and TechnipFMC. The equipment is destined for the Sergipe Aguas Profundas (SEAP) project, which Petrobras will develop off the coast of Sergipe state.
The scope covers manifolds, electro-hydraulic distribution units, PLEMs, ESDVs and UTAs alongside the trees. Tender data were released by Petronect under licitation number 7004565113.
The tender is split into three lots. Lots 1 and 2 each carry 16 subsea christmas trees. The two lots are not mutually exclusive, and a single company can win both. Lot 3 bundles the consolidated demand of the first two, covering 32 trees in one package.
Award logic turns on that comparison. Petrobras will weigh the sum of the best bids received for lots 1 and 2 against the best single bid for the consolidated lot 3. Across every scenario examined, SLB OneSubsea sits ahead of its competitors.
The reporting on the tender was published by Sergipe Noticias on 23/07/2026 at 08:32, citing Destaque Noticias.
Separately, Petrobras said on Monday, August 3 that it had found natural gas in deepwater Colombia at the Sandia-1 exploratory well. The well lies about 42 kilometres offshore in 1,251 metres of water.
Drilling at Sandia-1 began on June 12, 2026 and reached final depth on July 29. The intervals where gas was confirmed are being evaluated in detail through well logs and will subsequently be characterised by laboratory analysis, the company said.
The discovery sits in Block GUA-OFF-0. Petrobras describes its work there as aligned with a long-term strategy to rebuild oil and gas reserves through exploration in new frontiers and partnership with other companies.
The operator holds 44.44% of the consortium, with Ecopetrol S.A. holding 55.56%. Petrobras runs its Colombian activity through the subsidiary Petrobras International Braspetro B.V - Sucursal Colombia, known as PIB-COL.
Taken together, the two items show a state operator committing subsea hardware volume at home while extending exploration through a minority-operator position abroad. The Sergipe package alone puts 32 trees into a single competitive process, with the winner set by whether bundled or split pricing lands lower.
The Colombian well adds context to the reserve-replacement argument Petrobras makes for GUA-OFF-0, where it carries operatorship without the majority stake.
Metropoles published its account of the Colombian discovery under the byline of Carlos Rydlewski on 03/08/2026 at 11:17, updated at 11:24. The same outlet also carried headlines reporting that Petrobras cut the price of aviation kerosene by 14.5%, that an accord between Petrobras and Pemex covers pre-salt exploration in Mexico, and that Magda Chambriard of Petrobras was elected chair of the Braskem board.
