Vestas Q2 EBIT Margin Jumps to 9.4% From 1.5% a Year Earlier

Vestas reported an EBIT margin before special items of 9.4% in the second quarter of 2026, against 1.5% in the second quarter of 2025, and raised its guidance after the quarter.

Operating earnings before special items rose to EUR 446 million, or DKK 3.3 billion. Revenue reached EUR 4.72 billion, equivalent to DKK 35.3 billion.

That top line was 26.1% higher than in the same quarter a year earlier. The turbine maker attributed the improvement mainly to delivering more MW during the quarter, and to a lesser degree to rising prices.

The split between volume and price is the substantive detail for anyone modelling turbine economics. A margin moving from 1.5% to 9.4% on revenue up 26.1% means the incremental MW delivered carried far more contribution than the base, rather than the result resting on a pricing reset alone.

Vestas lifted its expectations after a quarter marked by markedly higher revenue and earnings. The revision followed the results rather than preceding them.
