Elocity App Reaches About 80% of Poland's Public Chargers After Orlen Roaming Deal
A roaming agreement has opened the Orlen Charge network to users of the Elocity app, giving a single piece of software access to roughly 80% of publicly available charging stations in Poland. The network is developed by ORLEN S.A..
The app previously aggregated the services of more than 600 EV charging station operators. Adding Orlen Charge extends that reach to more than 180,000 app users, according to the announcement carried by Inwestycje.pl.
What changes for the driver is the transaction layer rather than the hardware. "Thanks to the integration with Orlen Charge, Elocity users can search for, start and settle charging sessions at Orlen stations without leaving our application," said Adrian Nocun, CEO of Elocity. Nocun is described as CEO and co-owner of the company by Handelextra.pl.
Orlen Charge's modern hubs allow several vehicles to charge at once, use dynamic power management, and offer up to 400 kW per charging point. Those hubs are being built along main routes, motorways, expressways and high-traffic locations, according to electromobility specialists at Orlen S.A..
Drivers using stations located at Orlen sites can use the Stop Cafe offer, restrooms and parking infrastructure during a charging session.
The aggregation model puts the customer relationship with the software firm rather than the asset owner. Elocity is a technology company that has existed since 2018 and runs its own cloud software for managing charging stations, according to Inwestycje.pl. Its position now rests on a roaming layer stitched together across more than 600 operators, of which Orlen Charge is the most recent addition.
For the charge point operator, roaming trades direct app ownership for volume: sessions initiated inside a third-party interface still run on Orlen hardware and still fill Orlen forecourts. For the aggregator, each network added moves the coverage figure closer to a level where a driver has little reason to install a second app, a threshold the parties put at about 80% of Poland's publicly accessible stations.
