Trafigura announced in Singapore on 1 October 2026 that it had closed new syndicated revolving credit and term loan facilities totaling approximately USD4.4 billion. The facilities were substantially oversubscribed. They were upsized from an initial launch amount equivalent to USD3.5 billion.

Forty financial institutions participated in the transaction. The package includes a 365-day USD revolving credit facility worth USD1.1 billion. It also includes a one-year CNH term loan facility equivalent to USD1.6 billion, a three-year USD term loan facility worth USD1.5 billion, and a five-year revolving credit facility worth USD0.2 billion.

Trafigura secured about USD950 million in additional liquidity, mostly through the three-year and five-year tranches. The new facilities will refinance the maturing three-year term loan tranche from 2023 and the maturing one-year USD and CNH tranches from 2025. They will also be used for general corporate purposes.

Trafigura CFO Stephan Jansma said the five-year tranche was introduced as part of a strategy to shift the company's funding profile toward longer-term maturities. Jansma said the transaction had strong lender support across Asia and the Middle East, including strong participation from Chinese banks.

BBVA, DBS, OCBC and Standard Chartered acted as active mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners. OCBC acted as global coordinator for the transaction. The Export-Import Bank of China, Postal Savings Bank of China, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank and Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank were mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners for the renminbi syndication.
