Hyundai IONIQ 3 to Start Under GBP 25,000, With Highest Customer Interest for Any New Hyundai

Hyundai confirmed that IONIQ 3 prices are expected to start at under GBP 25,000, or about USD 33,500, according to Electrek. Dutch pricing for the electric hatch starts at EUR 27,995, about USD 32,000, Electrek reported.

Dealer listings are already below the confirmed entry point. The base IONIQ 3 Standard Range appears on Vertu Motors' website at GBP 22,245, or USD 29,800, per Electrek.

Hyundai said the model has drawn "the highest-ever level of customer interest recorded for a new Hyundai model," according to Electrek.

Two battery sizes are offered. The 42.2 kWh standard pack delivers up to 213 miles on the WLTP cycle, and the 61 kWh extended-range pack up to 308 miles, Electrek reported.

Charging speeds are close between the two. A 10% to 80% DC fast charge takes about 29 minutes on the standard battery and about 30 minutes on the long-range pack, according to Electrek.

That charging performance comes without the higher-voltage hardware used further up the range. Electrek reported the IONIQ 3 uses a 400V architecture rather than the 800V system in the IONIQ 5, a choice made to cut costs.

Zeekr Power Opens Megawatt-Level Charging Site in Bangkok With 960 kW Stack

Zeekr Power has opened its first megawatt-level charging station in Thailand, built with TPM Automotive and Sinexcel, according to electrive.

The Bangkok site runs on Sinexcel's 960 kW ultra-fast charging stack, electrive reported. Installed capacity can be raised from 960 kW to 1,280 kW by adding power modules, the outlet said.

Hardware at the location consists of one 700A liquid-cooled ultra-fast charger and three 500A air-cooled units, according to electrive. Each of the four chargers carries two guns, giving eight charging points that can each deliver up to 480 kW and serve eight vehicles at once.

In a demonstration at the new station, Zeekr Power charged two Zeekr 7X units simultaneously from 20 per cent to 80 per cent state of charge in ten minutes, electrive reported.

The opening takes Zeekr Power to eight sites across Thailand, with seven in Bangkok and one in Chonburi, according to electrive.
