TIDAL PWR and BTQ Technologies Study Quantum-Ready Data Center Design

TIDAL PWR is working with quantum technology company BTQ Technologies on how power and data center infrastructure could eventually accommodate quantum computing, according to Power Magazine.

The Texas-based data center developer says its artificial intelligence campus development pipeline covers seven projects totaling 9.87 GW, Power Magazine reported.

Those campuses are designed to pair utility service with behind-the-meter generation, according to the same report. That structure gives a site supply from the grid alongside on-site capacity dedicated to the load rather than sold into the market.

The collaboration is framed around what quantum computing hardware would require from a host site, rather than around a specific installation. Power Magazine described the exercise as determining how existing power and data center infrastructure could be adapted.
