Battery Retrofits at Australian Solar Farms Match New Builds, PV Magazine Reports
Battery storage retrofits at existing grid-scale solar farms in Australia now run on par in number with new solar developments that include storage, according to local experts cited by pv magazine.
The retrofit activity is being driven by Australia's push to accelerate electrification, meet an 82% renewable energy target and retire coal-fired power plants by 2030, pv magazine reported.
RWE Australia's Limondale Solar Farm has added a retrofitted battery energy storage system with 400 MWh of capacity, according to pv magazine.
