TVA Approves 2026 Resource Plan Centered on Gas for Data Centers

The Tennessee Valley Authority has approved its 2026 Integrated Resource Plan, according to CleanTechnica.

CleanTechnica reported that the plan sets the stage to overbuild gas power plants to serve AI data center interests, describing the buildout as risky.

An Integrated Resource Plan is the long-range document a utility uses to set out how it intends to meet projected demand across generation types, and its approval fixes the reference case that subsequent procurement and capacity decisions are measured against.
