Anthropic and Zerra DC plan 2.16 GW data centre on Queensland's Darling Downs

Anthropic and Singapore-based developer Zerra DC have released details of a 2.16 GW data centre planned for a site near Dalby on Queensland's Darling Downs, according to RenewEconomy. The project is valued at more than USD 30 billion.

Energy and climate analysts told RenewEconomy the facility could significantly add to greenhouse gas emissions and draw as much as one-fifth of Queensland's peak electricity demand unless it is required to rapidly ramp up renewable energy.
