Sunwoda unveils 15C LFP battery charging 10% to 97% in nine minutes

Sunwoda has presented a new 15C lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that it says can charge from 10% to 70% in five minutes and from 10% to 97% in nine minutes, adding roughly 60 miles of range per minute plugged in, according to Electrek.

Electrek reports those charging speeds were achieved at room temperature. At -20 degrees Celsius, Sunwoda's cell reportedly took 15 minutes to add 700 km, about 435 miles, of range while moving from 10% to 97% state of charge.

Sunwoda, which supplies batteries to Geely, Dongfeng and GAC, said the cells can meet warranty requirements of 10 years or 300,000 km with no cap on ultrafast charging sessions, according to Electrek.
