Uranium supply set to trail demand as reactor pipeline grows
Benchmark Mineral Intelligence forecasts a uranium deficit equal to 18% of demand in 2027, according to Stockhead.
A joint report from the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency and the International Atomic Energy Agency says the global uranium sector is responding to growing interest in new nuclear capacity, but significant and sustained investment will be required to convert existing resources into future supply, as reported by Green Building Africa.
The same report projects that annual global uranium requirements could reach approximately 84,800 tonnes under a lower nuclear growth scenario and 143,900 tonnes under a higher scenario by 2050.
