TotalEnergies Flags Sharp Q3 LNG Gains on Higher Prices

TotalEnergies said Thursday in a preview of its third-quarter earnings that it expected results from its liquefied natural gas (LNG) portfolio to rise sharply from the previous quarter. The company attributed the expected gain partly to a 20% increase in market prices since the second quarter.

Mizuho expects TotalEnergies to report a strong third quarter, with exceptional downstream margins and an LNG trading rebound more than offsetting lower oil prices. The firm's adjusted earnings per share forecast sits about 3% above the Street view, according to Mizuho.
