Centrus Signs Multi-Year HALEU Supply Contract with Antares Nuclear

Centrus Energy has signed a definitive multi-year contract to supply Antares Nuclear with High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU), with deliveries starting before the end of the decade, according to Neutron Bytes.

The agreement includes prepayments from Antares to support expanded HALEU production capacity, Neutron Bytes reported. Centrus is ramping output at its American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, Ohio.

The contract is intended to secure a reliable domestic HALEU source for Antares advanced reactor projects, including space and U.S. national security missions, per Neutron Bytes.

Greenpeace accuses Russia of sabotaging power supply at Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant

Greenpeace has accused Moscow of deliberately sabotaging the electricity supply at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant to shift blame onto Ukraine for endangering the facility, according to dpa.

The accusation rests on a joint analysis by Greenpeace Ukraine and London-based McKenzie Intelligence Services, which reviewed satellite imagery of the site and reported no evidence supporting Russian claims of Ukrainian attacks, Al Jazeera reported.

According to Ukrainska Pravda, the analysis concluded that damage Russia attributed to an alleged Ukrainian drone strike on June 4 was already visible in imagery predating that day.

Shaun Burnie, a nuclear specialist at Greenpeace Ukraine, tied the pattern of repeated off-site power losses at the plant to Russian military strikes on Ukraine's energy grid and to sabotage at the facility and its associated open switchyards.
