Supreme Court Hears Suncor Climate Case as New Exxon Filings Surface

The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Suncor Energy, Inc. v. County Commissioners of Boulder County, according to RSN. The outlet described the case as one that could give fossil fuel companies a get-out-of-jail-free card for the harms caused by climate change.

Scientists have used data compiled on fossil fuel industry emissions to connect climate harms to individual companies, RSN reported.

Separately, newly reported filings in an ExxonMobil climate deception case include statements from Exxon scientists challenging the company's climate-solution claims, according to Truthdig. The documents cover the company's work on biofuels and carbon capture and storage. Truthdig said several of the documents in the filings were being reported on for the first time.
