Dandelion, Lennar complete nearly 100 geothermal-equipped Colorado homes

Dandelion Energy and Lennar completed nearly 100 homes at the base of Colorado’s Front Range, each fitted with a ground-source heat pump, according to Inside Climate News.

The systems use less electricity than highly efficient air-source heat pumps and could help Colorado reduce peak energy demand and avoid new gas pipelines.

Dandelion CEO Dan Yates said ground-source heat pumps consume a quarter as much electricity as air-source systems during cold snaps.

The Ken Caryl Ranch development forms part of an initiative launched by Dandelion and Lennar in 2025 to install geothermal heating and cooling in more than 1,500 Colorado homes over two years.
